” Legend has it that the inhabitants of the region of Andermatt vainly tried to build a bridge over the terrible gorge Schoellenen.
The Devil appeared one day and offered to build one that could withstand five hundred years in exchange for the first soul to cross the bridge. Cunning villagers mistook the Devil leaving a rabid goat cross! Drunken rage, Satan then tried to destroy the bridge with a huge stone… Down the valley of Devil's Bridge, près de Goeschenen, you can see this huge and strange round stone… Was it a legend?”
