Kirikou and the Witch is a feature film d’animation franco–belgo–Luxembourgish réalisé par Michel Ocelot and released in 1998. Adapted from an African tale, the film tells the adventures of Kirikou, a tiny boy but with extraordinary intelligence and generosity, in his fight against the witch Karaba, who tyrannizes the inhabitants of the village with the help of his evil powers and an army of fetishes. By its scenario, its graphics, his music and dubbing, Kirikou is inspired as closely as possible by the cultures of’West Africa.
